Our annual Law Sabbath. This year we will be honoring Hon Audrey Pheffer - Queens County Clerk for her many years in service to the Queens County community. Location to be determined.
Our annual Yom HaShoah event will be held in the Queens County Courthouse, Criminal Term this year. We will hear from Tova Friedman, one of the youngest Holocaust survivors. Ms. Friedman will recount her history which involves being sent to Auschwitz at the age of 5, where she was kept contained in the Kinderlager or "children's camp." Ms. Friedman would go on to survive starvation and a trip to the gas extermination chamber which was supposed to happen on October 7, a day even more meaningful in light of recent events.
We are looking for sponsors for the event, if anyone is interested, please reach out to Bradley Siegel or email us at email@example.com.
We will be co-hosting the first (but hopefully annual) Jewish Heritage Month with the Queens County Supreme Court, Criminal Term’s Equal Justice Committee event. At this event, we will be honoring District Attorney (and long time Brandeis member) Melinda Katz, for her many years of support to both the Jewish and Queens communities.
We will be looking for sponsors for this event, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We will be hosting our annual Scholarship breakfast, where we will announce the winners of our annual scholarship awards.
